— With a week remaining in the NHL lockout, the Detroit Red Wings will have three games to determine their fate in the playoffs.
The Red Wings have lost four of their past five games and have been without defenseman Jonathan Ericsson, who has missed three games because of a lower-body injury.
Detroit had one of its top lines in the series eliminated in Game 1 on Thursday.
Ericsson is expected to miss four to six weeks.
Red Wings defenseman Jonathan Jansen has missed the past three games due to a lower body injury.
The Wings have one of their top lines eliminated in the Stanley Cup Final on Sunday.
The Red Wings are 1-1-0 in the postseason.
Jansen, who is 3-3-1 in 10 games in the regular season, scored his third goal in four games against the New York Rangers.
He has scored in six straight games for Detroit, which is 3.5 games behind Pittsburgh for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
The Rangers won 4-3 on Wednesday night to advance to face the New Jersey Devils in the first round of the playoffs on Sunday night.
The Rangers lost 3-2 on Friday night to the Washington Capitals.
